Have you ever dreamed of publishing your writing? Do you want to earn a living as an author in an ever-changing digital age?Just for you, Quadrangle NL’s Entrepreneurship Training Program are hosting a self-publishing workshop, with local author Kelsey Green!
Come join us and Kelsey as we explore and discuss the world of independent publishing from marketing and copyright protection, to costing and royalties. This is your chance to learn about getting your writing into the hands of readers and earning an income from your work! Here’s a little bit more about our guest host, Kelsey Green:“Kelsey Green is a 20-year-old lesbian author from Corner Brook, Newfoundland & Labrador. She published her first book of poetry, “I Was Born Sick,” at 17 years old, and she is currently getting ready to release her second poetry book, “Convalescence.” Kelsey’s poetry focuses on a variety of different topics and reflects parts of her own life, such as falling in love, experiencing homophobia, toxic relationships/breakups, mental health struggles, activism, and healing from trauma. Kelsey hopes that through sharing her story, she can connect with other people who’ve been through similar things and remind them that they are not alone in their struggles. She is also planning a third poetry book, titled “Between the Fire and the Flood, the Quiet War Within.” This next effort will focus on the current global political climate, and how climate change is wreaking havoc on communities worldwide. It is also going to cover Kelsey’s own journey of balancing media intake, using her voice to make a change, and juggling the increasingly complex political landscape; all while trying to complete school and live her life.”This event will take place on Thursday, July 17th at the Status of Women’s Centre (227 Humber Ave), from 6PM - 8PM.
