Barriers and Facilitators to Healthcare Access (Healthcare Providers and Student Report)
In 2023, Quadrangle NL conducted a province-wide study on 2SLGBTQIA+ healthcare access in Newfoundland and Labrador. This report presents findings from two groups: healthcare providers and healthcare students practicing and training across NL. Data were collected through online surveys completed by 57 healthcare providers and 12 healthcare students. Companion reports from 2SLGBTQIA+ community members are published separately.
Note: The healthcare providers and students sample is relatively small, and the findings in this report should be understood as preliminary and exploratory. The percentages reported are therefore not representative and should not be generalized to all healthcare providers and students across the province. However, we believe these findings reveal important patterns and experiences that warrant further attention.”

This condensed summary presents findings from the community member component, drawn from 286 survey responses, 8 individual interviews, and 10 focus groups with 2SLGBTQIA+ community members across NL.
