Overview: Food is a powerful way to connect across cultures. Many participants have expressed interest in learning more about job searching, employment rights, Canadian workplace culture, and available supports. This gathering aims to create a relaxed and supportive space where BIPOC queer and trans folks can learn from one another and from community partners.
This gathering will use food as a way to bring people together, with participants invited to bring a dish to share.
First hour: Potluck and informal connection
Second hour: Guest speakers from partner organizations sharing employment-related programs and answering questions about the job market, job searching, and workplace culture
Final 30 minutes: Open social time
